The Watchtower
Maasai Mara, 2021
A cheetah in a tree is not often seen. Although they are cats, they do not have the same climbing abilities as their larger counterparts. This is because they do not have retractable claws like lions or leopards do, a trait that is much more dog-like.
The image shows a cheetah mother gaining a vantage point, on the look out for potential prey. I felt extremely lucky to be able to capture something this rare.
The contrast of the cheetah spots against a clean background really appeals to me in this image.
